Dale started at 5 Paper Buildings as junior clerk in 1988. In 2004 he was elected as senior clerk.
Dale has the overall responsibility for the strategic management and the development of members’ practices. Dale is responsible for the promotion and marketing of chambers ensuring that both barristers and staff provide a first rate service.
The legal directories have frequently commented on the service provided by Dale.
Chambers and Partners 2017 noted that he is “a class act” and "Senior clerk Dale Jones is just brilliant. Phone him and he will sort out your problem. He is very amicable, very commercially aware and he knows exactly the type of barrister we need."
The 2017 Legal500 reads: At the helm, Dale Jones is ‘one of the best clerks’, who continues to go ‘from strength to strength’; ‘he has the knack of being able to suggest counsel who are right for the job’ and ‘goes the extra mile to help’”.
In 2016 the Legal 500 called him "undoubtedly the best out there".
Between 2006 and 2010, Dale was treasurer of The Institute of Barrister's Clerks.
Elsewhere, Dale enjoys walks with his dog, Ralph, an array of spectator sports and is a lifelong Millwall fan.
