Solicitor Convicted of Immigration Offences

Emma Deacon, leading Catherine Rabaiotti, secured convictions in the prosecution of Nazakat Ali, practising solicitor and principal of the firm Ali Sinclair, for offences of facilitating breaches of immigration law by his clients, following an eight week trial.  

Ali was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.  He had been the subject of a BBC Panorama exposé "My Big Fat Fake Wedding".  Emma and Catherine were instructed by CPS Special Casework Unit.
