Rape Trial against ex-doctor from Stoke Mandeville Hospital begins

Miranda Moore QC, instructed by the Crown Prosecution Services, has started opening in the trial against ex-doctor Michael Salmon, who was arrested under Operation Yewtree.

Michael Salmon, 79, faces 16 charges in total relating to eight girls aged from 11 to 18, he is alleged to have met them while working in Buckinghamshire in the 1970 and 1980s. He is accused of offering an illegal abortion to a teenage girl and raping her afterwards as well as abusing other girls in medical consultation rooms. He denies all the charges.
