Alan Richards appointed Crown Counsel in Bermuda

Alan Richards has commenced an 18-month secondment as Consultant Crown Counsel (Specialist) in the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda.  He will be working in the Department of Public Prosecutions, prosecuting cases before the local Magistrates' Court, Supreme Court (equivalent to the Crown and High Courts in England and Wales) and the Court of Appeal (largely composed of retired appellate judges from Commonwealth jurisdictions).  In addition to general criminal litigation, he will specialise in Proceeds of Crime, Mutual Legal Assistance and Extradition work.  Alan was admitted to the Bermudian Bar on the motion of the DPP by the Honourable Justice Stephen Hellman on Friday 20th March 2015.
