Alessandro Gherzi Acquitted

Tom Allen QC instructed by John Milner of IBB Solicitors secured the acquittal of Alessandro Gherzi, who was accused of two counts of conspiracy to defraud, two counts of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.  

Two other defendants Georgy Urumov and Vladimir Gersamia, were found guilty of concocting a scheme to swindle Russian bank Otkritie Group out of more than $100 million by over-pricing Argentinean fixed income products during 2010 and 2011. 

Robert O’Sullivan QC and Michael Hick were instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service. 

Urumov and Gersamia will be sentenced on Friday 27th January.
